Free online DXF viewer
Drop a .dxf file anywhere on this page, together with its fonts and images (or their whole folder), or choose them. Everything runs locally in your browser: your drawing is never uploaded.
Drawn the way AutoCAD plots it
truedxf is an open-source DXF renderer tested case by case against AutoCAD's own plot output: text and MTEXT with SHX and TrueType fonts, hatches and gradients, dimensions and leaders, complex linetypes, lineweights, blocks, tables, images, viewports and paper-space layouts.
- Layouts and layers: model space and every paper-space layout; toggle or isolate layers.
- Inspector: click an entity for its layer, colour, linetype, lineweight and raw DXF tags.
- Measure distances and angles; dark or light background; lineweights on or off.
- Large files: parsing and rendering run in a background worker, drawn with WebGL.
- ASCII and binary DXF, from R12 to the current AutoCAD format.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The drawing, its fonts and its images are read by your browser and never sent anywhere. You can disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded.
Why does the text look different from AutoCAD?
AutoCAD's fonts (txt.shx, simplex.shx, …) and Windows fonts are not ours to distribute, so this site falls back to the free Liberation fonts. Choose your own fonts folder, for example a copy of AutoCAD's Fonts folder, in the Files panel or the Open menu; it stays on your computer and, in Chromium-based browsers, is remembered for your next visit.
Can it open DWG files?
Not yet. Save the drawing as DXF in your CAD program (DXFOUT or Save As) and open that.
Something is drawn wrong.
Please report it, ideally with a DXF you are allowed to share.
